Blank greetings card with envelope featuring:

Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt NPG 7031

© National Portrait Gallery, London

by Frederick Bacon Barwell

According to the inscription, this drawing was made from life. It depicts Wyatt wearing wire-rimmed spectacles, in three-quarter profile, looking to the right. Barwell gave his drawing of Wyatt to the artist and poet William Bell Scott. It is likely that Wyatt, Barwell and Scott were familiar with one another through their work at the South Kensington Museum and art schools, where Barwell was an inspector and Scott was an examiner.

Card size: 125mm x 175mm

Images are printed in their original proportions, within a white border.
