Mossetti was apprenticed for five years at the Alhambra Theatre, London, where she attended Lucia Cormani's dancing school. She made her debut as Silvio in a romantic ballet Paquita in 1908, and went on to become one of the finest en travesti dancers (taking male roles) of the period.
