Jogamaya Devi, daughter of Ram Narain Bhattacharjee, married Sir Asutosh Mookerjee in 1885. The couple had seven children. Jogamaya Devi College in Kolkata is named after her, it began as a women's section of Asutosh College to meet demands for women's education in South Calcutta. 25 years after the women's section was founded it was thought that it should run as a separate Women's college, it was subsequently renamed Jogamaya Devi College in memory of Lady Asutosh Mukherjee.
