Arthur Henry Fox Strangways was a music critic who wrote for The Observer. His main contribution to music journalism, however, was the establishment of Music and Letters, a quarterly review appearing first in 1920, of which he was sole proprietor as well as editor. In 1924 he published Schubert's Songs Translated, in 1928 a similar volume of Schumann, and later a small album of Brahms.
