Succeeded her father in 1927 as 21st seigneur and Dame of Sark. Responsible for maintaining it's unique laws and peaceful atmosphere, unpolluted by cars or planes. Dame Sybil's fame rests on her tact and bravery during the German occupation of the Channel Islands (1940-5). Her subsequent flair in publicising the islands attractions in the media brought Sark prosperity.
