In 1954 Ida Kar photographed Chadwick as part of a series for her upcoming Gallery One show titled Forty Artists from London and Paris. Chadwick was photographed in a series of poses, some as intimate cropped portraits and others with a sculpture which stood in the garden of a friend's house in London. He later wrote to Kar thanking her and saying how he felt 'very separated from all the excitement of London' now he was back home in Gloucestershire. A variant pose from this... more
