Nick Partridge has worked for the Terrence Higgins Trust since 1985 and was appointed its Chief Executive in 1991. Over the past twenty years he has campaigned on a variety of AIDS and sexual health issues. In 2004, Partridge was appointed a Commissioner of the Healthcare Commission, the independent inspectorate responsible for reviewing the quality of healthcare in England. He is also Deputy Chair of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.
