Laurie began his career in comedy at Cambridge University, where he performed with Stephen Fry in the award-winning 1981 Footlights revue. This was the start of a highly successful acting and writing partnership, which included, Alfresco; The Young Ones; A Bit of Fry and Laurie; Jeeves and Wooster, and the Blackadder series.
