Utopia, Limited was the penultimate Savoy Opera. Its sharp satire was directed towards capitalism, imperialism and royal scandal. This photograph shows the contralto Rosina Brandram as Lady Sophy, the soprano Emmie Owen as Princess Nekaya and the mezzo-soprano Florence Perry as Princess Kalyba. The English governess, lecturing the Princesses of Utopia on correct behaviour, demonstrates how ladies should 'turn up their little noses' at men.
