An ambitious and accomplished artist, whose work crossed the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the Aesthetic and Symbolist movements. Her work has suffered from critical neglect but her contribution to the larger Pre-Raphaelite movement is now being revalued. From a term at the National Art Training School in London she won a scholarship at the Slade School of Art.
