Throughout the Tichborne criminal trial it was suggested the Claimant was Arthur Orton, the son of a Wapping butcher, who had emigrated to Australia and assumed the alias of Tomas Castro. There were incriminating reports that he had visited Wapping seeking the Orton family upon his first arrival to London in 1866.
