Mossetti was apprenticed for five years at the Alhambra Theatre, London, where she attended Lucia Cormani's dancing school. She made her debut as Silvio in a romantic ballet Paquita in 1908, and went on to become one of the finest en travesti dancers (taking male roles) of the period. At the Empire she partnered Kyasht in Sylvia (1911) and Bedells in The Vine (1915) and she appeared with Adeline Genée in her last London season at the Coliseum (1917).
