Abraham Raimbach was apprenticed to J. Hall, engraver to the king, from 1789 to 1796, and subsequently studied for nine years at the Royal Academy. During these years, he carried out occasional engravings for booksellers. He also painted portraits in miniature that he exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1797 to 1805.
