Here Jane is seen at Kelmscott Manor in a room hung with antique tapestries. This photograph is part of a series that probably dates from May 1898, taken by a colleague of her late husband William Morris, Sir Emery Walker, who would became a family friend. She may have disliked the portraits as only one was printed, and all the plate negatives were later rescued from a rubbish skip.
