Bedells made her stage debut as the first oyster in Alice in Wonderland at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London, in 1906. The following year she joined the Empire Theatre, where she first appeared with Adeline Genée as the Demon Wrath in Rip van Winkle. She succeeded Lydia Kyasht in the title role of Titania and became principal dancer at the Empire, 1914-15, often partnered by Carlotta Mossetti.
