Conroy was an Irish soldier who served as Comptroller of the Household of Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, the Duchess of Kent, the mother of the future Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and widow of Prince Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent.
