by Roger Fry

Art critic and writer. Bell read history at Trinity College, Cambridge where he met Lytton Strachey, Leonard Woolf, Thoby Stephen and others later associated with the Bloomsbury group. He married Vanessa Bell in 1907, and their home at 46 Gordon Square was the focus of the group. With Roger Fry he arranged the first Post-impressionist exhibition of 1910. His book Art (1914) popularised the notion of 'significant form' in art, rather than content, appealing directly to the emotions, and Civilization (1928).

Images are printed in their original proportions, within a white border, on a Satin Photo or Art Etch paper. Please note that a copyright line is included beneath the image and the dimensions listed above are for the paper size only.

The Satin Photo paper has a semi-gloss finish, ideally suited to reproductions of photographs, while the Art Etch paper has a matt textured surface that works particularly well for reproductions of drawings, etchings and some paintings.
